At its April 9th meeting the Schaumburg Business Development Commission named Schaumburg AM Rotary as its April 2018 Business of the Month. 
 
The honor recognizes the club’s civic engagement and investment in our community as a non-profit organization whose focus over its 28-year history has been that of improving the lives of others both here at home and around the world.
 
Village President Al Larson along with the Village Trustees presented the award to Schaumburg AM Rotarians Brian Bieschke, Tim Gerhardt, Sharon Perry and Greg Ring.  They in turn presented the award to 17/18 club president Scott Zambo and those members present at the club's April 11th meeting.
 
Notable club achievements include -
  • supporting the School Dist 54 Education Foundation’s Food 4 Thought program
  • providing new winter coats to children attending the Marletta Darnall Schaumburg Child + Family Center
  • supporting youth learning and leadership skills development
  • providing need based vocational scholarship assistance
  • donating to the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry
  • participating in a variety of service projects that benefit the community
The club’s international involvement includes -
  • Building an outdoor basketball court for an elementary school in Belize
  • Participation in a Rotary Foundation Global Grant that provides funding for after-school programs and counseling for at-risk students in Dadu, Taiwan
  • Participation in the November 2017 Rotary District 6440 Friendship Exchange trip to Taiwan
