Club members deliver boxes of new shoes
to District 54's administrative headquarters for distribution

Schaumburg AM Rotary is making a difference in our community by donating 115 pairs of new athletic shoes to School District 54 students whose families are struggling to make ends meet.

The shoes come in a variety of colors and are sized for children ages pre-k through 3rd grade who outgrow their shoes at a rapid rate.  Shoes will be distributed by District 54 school social workers and through the district's network of community closets.

Our club, along with other Rotary Dist. 6440 clubs, participated in Operation Warm's new “Warm Soles” initiative to make this donation possible.  Over the last year, unexpected hardships have had a significant impact on families in need who typically spend a significant portion of their income on essential needs, leaving little room to replace items that may no longer be appropriate, such as a child’s ill-fitting shoes. The gift of brand-new shoes empowers children in need by sparking confidence and self-pride.

Club members wrote personal notes of encouragement that will be given to those children receiving a pair of new shoes.
