Schaumburg A.M. Rotary awards grants supporting local students and charities

The Rotary Club of Schaumburg A.M. culminated a year of giving at its June 19th Community Grant Awards Breakfast. Through annual fundraising events held during its 23 year history, this club has donated more than $425,000 to address a wide variety of humanitarian concerns found both in the Northwest Suburbs and worldwide.
This year’s grant recipients include –
- Alfred Campanelli YMCA
- Child’s Voice
- The Children’s Advocacy Center of North & Northwest Cook County
- Clearbrook
- Countryside Association for People with Disabilities
- Enders-Salk School Gardening Program
- Erin’s Law
- Women in Need Growing Stronger (WINGS)
- Winston Churchill School Gardening & Reading Programs
- Boy Scout Troop 193
- St. Hubert Job & Networking Ministry Program
- Feed My Starving Children, who provides life giving nutrition to mal-nourished children all over the world
Additionally the club -
- distributed new winter coats, obtained through Operation Warm, to children at the Marletta Darnall Schaumburg Child + Family Center
- provided need-based vocational scholarship funds to local residents and
- sponsored local high school student participation in RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Program), a program that emphasizes leadership, citizenship and personal growth amongst young people
Members collectively contributed their individual out-of-pocket donations to support the Schaumburg Twp Food Pantry and the Campanelli YMCA Super Santa Program.
