Schaumburg AM Rotary recently conducted an essay contest geared towards student members of the Interact Club of Robert Frost Jr. High School.

Participating students were asked to write a one-page essay on the topic of “What Is A Leader?”

Vinaya P.’s winning essay earned her the club’s Essence of Leadership Award.  In recognition of her effort the club awarded her an all-expense paid scholarship to attend a spring 2017 three-day weekend session of Rotary Dist. 6440’s RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) Camp held at Edwards Camp and Conference Center in East Troy, WI.  The camp emphasizes leadership skills, personal development and citizenship and includes recreational and cultural activities, in addition to a variety of motivational and inspirational speakers.

Vinaya served as 15/16 vice president of Frost’s Interact Club and will attend Conant High School this fall.
