Schaumburg A.M. Rotarians participated in a club fundraising activity at Schaumburg's 52nd annual Labor Day Weekend Celebration known as Septemberfest by checking ID's for legal drinking age and selling wristbands that fest goers needed to purchase alcoholic beverages. Proceeds from wristband sales will be used by the club to fund its community service projects.
Septemberfest is an outdoor festival featuring entertainment on three stages, a carnival, arts & crafts show, craft beer & wine area, Taste of Schaumburg, bingo and more.
Club members also asked for donations to offset the cost of purchasing 100 + new winter coats from Operation Warm that will be donated to underserved kids from low income families who utilize services provided by the Brightpoint - Marletta Darnall Schaumburg Child + Family Center towards the end of October.
A big shout out to the following -
- Club members and their spouses/significant others who volunteered to staff our main booth over the three day holiday weekend
- Club member Tom Cunningham for working with the Village of Schaumburg to make our participation possible
- Volunteers from The Giving Group who staffed a secondary booth on our behalf located on the festival grounds near the craft beer & wine tent
